Discussion: A look back at 1.15 “Red-Handed”

Aussie viewers have been spoilt – two eps last night, one tonight and another one tomorrow night! Here’re some posts from the live tweeting of the episode (as well as other ep talk beneath the cut):

So Emma’s talking to David in the cop shop. David hopes that Kathryn is safe and warm. Emma’s more worried about David and goes so far as to suggest David get a lawyer. Not a good sign!

Great scene with Ruby talking to August about all his travels, and being obviously envious that he’s been able to see so much of the world. Granny is not happy with the’ flirting’.

Seriously, how stinking cute are Red and Peter? Red is so cute, all giddy about Peter.

Also I LOVE Red’s cape. LOVE. If I ever cosplay at a con, I’m going as Red.

Anyone else get the impression that Granny is just a bit obsessive about the hood?

Yikes. Red and Snow unwittingly stumble upon an absolute massacre. How horrifying for them to see…

The friendship between Red and Snow is so precious. Them having girltalk in Red’s room – awww!

Discussion: A look back at 1.14 “Dreamy”

I posted the recap of 1.13 “What Happened to Frederick” last night – here’s the recap for 1.14 “Dreamy” which also aired last night!

Here’re some posts from the live tweeting of the episode (as well as other ep talk beneath the cut):

Amy Acker is so adorable in this episode!

Great segue from FTL to Storybrooke – Dreamy/Grumpy hatches out of an egg, Leroy cracks open an egg in his brekky.

Love how Astrid just swats the dust/snow off Leroy, including his beard. She obviously has no concept of personal space.

YIKES. Big difference between 12 and 12 DOZEN. D: (Having done something similar in the office, I feel Astrid’s pain!)

Pretty pretty fairy dust! So, I just gotta grind down some diamonds to get fairy dust, right? (Expensive Dust!)

Dreamy: “Have a good time!” LOL He’s so oblivious.

BELLE!!

Mary Margaret’s like “WHAT DID YOU DO?!” O_O

Discussion: A look back at 1.13 “What Happened to Frederick”

Australian viewers were lucky enough this Sunday night to get TWO eps! First up was 1.13 “What Happened to Frederick”.

Here’re some posts from the live tweeting of the episode (as well as other ep talk beneath the cut):

First 5 mins and we can already see that James is in trouble with Faux!Daddy. Really dislike King George.

David: “It’s… in Boston.” Henry’s little voice is going “NO! BAD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU LEAVE STORYBROOKE!”

I love the confused look on Charming’s face when he realises it’s Abigail that has snatched him.

Abigail: “Because I don’t want to marry you either.” THAT moment I love Abigail.

From the outset, Mary Margaret is the one saying they need to tell Kathryn the truth. David… you really are a coward. (Damn curse.)

I understand that David is in a tough place but… dude, grow some balls and man up. Tell your wife the truth!

Even Kathryn asks David for the truth… and then he says NOTHING! Ugh! So frustrating. Perfect opportunity and he just takes the cowards way out. *shakes him*

Cape flick for Charming – check! (That’s part of the official drinking game, right? )

Discussion: A look back at 1.08 “Desperate Souls”

Australian viewers get to watch 1.08 “Desperate Souls” this week. Fantastic episode that provides us some background into the Rumplestiltskin character.

First thing, LOVE seeing the Rumplestiltskin character sitting there and spinning. Harkens back to the ‘traditional’ fairytale that Rumplestiltskin was able to spin gold from straw.

So weird seeing Robert Carlyle as non-magical Rumplestiltskin. Really shows the difference the makeup makes! And non-magical Rumplestiltskin is so very different, from the magical being. He’s sort of sad and pathetic, and cares so very much for his son.

Discussion: A look back at 1.07 “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”

Late to the party – as usual! – but here’s the recap/thoughts from last week’s ep that aired in Australia… “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”.

Still consider this to be one of the best eps of the season. Great start to the episode. I do love the fact that even though Graham is three sheets to the wind, he can still hit what is essentially a bullseye. Also, love the “I never miss”. :D

I find it really hard to have any sort of sympathy for the Evil Queen when she is so deceitful towards Snow – even laughing about it with the Mirror behind Snow’s back. :(

So good seeing Graham in his flashback as The Huntsman. Regina’s reaction when Graham mentions the wolf is VERY telling. Great moment when Graham tells Regina it felt ‘like a memory’, not a dream.

Seriously though, seeing the wolf after just seeing it in his dream? Had to be doing his head in.

News: Season 1 finale question in ‘Ask Ausiello’

TV|LINE: Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Parenthood, Breaking Bad and More!

One of the questions in this week’s Ask Ausiello article was about some of the events in the season 1 finale, with the response from Exec Producer Adam Horowitz.

As the OUAT fandom is so international, I’ll put the question and response behind the cut to save spoiling people who haven’t seen the finale yet. :) There are also allusions to season 2 but no concrete spoilers. They do love to tease us!!

Discussion: Who was your favourite character (main or recurring) from Season 1?

The cast and crew behind Once Upon a Time have created (or reinvented) a stack of fantastic characters, both main and recurring.

Who was your favourite character (main or recurring) from Season 1?

Please discuss in the comments section! :)

Discussion: A look back at 1.04 “The Price of Gold”

Yikes! Rumplestiltskin just killed the gold fairy! :O Makes for an interesting twist though, that Rumplestiltskin should be Cinderella’s “fairy godmother”.

I’m standing by my earlier meta post – I reckon Snow and Charming are already married at the time of Ella and Thomas’ wedding. I can definitely see a ring on Charming’s left hand when he and Snow approach the newlyweds.

Hard to tell how much longer after Ella and Thomas’ wedding the scene is where Ella tells Thomas she’s pregnant. Interesting look on Thomas’ face when Ella tells him she made a deal with Rumplestiltskin. Obviously he’s well-known around the realm!

More ep talk below the cut. Please feel free to discuss in the comments! :)

Discussion: Which character twist or storyline twist did you enjoy the most?

Here’s the second question in a series of posts that will keep going until Season 2 arrives in September!

Season 1 handed us plenty of twists, both for characters and in overall storylines, that we didn’t necessarily see coming.

Which character twists or storyline twists did you enjoy the most?

Please share your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Discussion: A look back at 1.03 “Snow Falls”

One of my FAVOURITE eps aired in Australia this week – “Snow Falls”! I have so much major love for this episode. :)

YAY! The introduction of Snow White! The biggest thing I loved about this episode initially (and love about the entire series) is that they made Snow pretty kick-ass. A Snow White on the run and a thief? Who thumps Prince Charming? Go, girl!

Abigail was such a spoilt brat at the beginning. LOL Funny the different take you have on a character when you have additional backstory! Obviously a lot of what we thought didn’t change until halfway through the season.

Dr Whale, you lech. Perving on Ruby while on a date with Mary Margaret. Yuck. (Or to second Emma’s later comment, “Ew.”)

Henry to Mary Margaret: “You SURE you don’t know him?” LOL Henry, you adorable child. And then to Emma: “I found your father – Prince Charming.” His proof being that John Doe and Prince Charming have a scar in the same place. I know some people find Henry annoying but I think he really is this charming little boy who is trying SO HARD to get other people to believe what he thinks is as plain as day.

Also, ridiculously perfect that MM be the one to read the story of Snow White and Prince Charming to the unconscious John Doe. That moment where he touches her hand while he’s still unconscious? Yeah, on my first viewing I remember my jaw dropping then jumping up and flailing. Not much has changed – no jaw dropping, but still plenty of flailing!

The first full exchange between Snow and Charming is BRILLIANT. Probably my favourite SCENE of the entire series. I was hooked on the series before this ep, but this exchange? Totally sealed the deal. The back-and-forth between the two of them is absolute perfection.
